What we don't do
Knowing what we turn down is how you know what we're actually good at. This list doesn't bend, including for people we like.
- General tech support and break/fix. Printers, Wi-Fi, email outages, "my computer is slow," network setup. We're glad to refer you to a local IT shop we trust.
- Marketing services. SEO, ad campaigns, social media management, content calendars. We'll build the software; we won't run your marketing.
- Ongoing IT management or being on call for systems that aren't ours.
- Work without a written scope and a cleared deposit. It protects both of us.
- Anything touching patient health data or other HIPAA-regulated information.
- AI that makes high-stakes calls on its own — legal, medical, or financial determinations. AI assists your experts; it doesn't replace their judgment.
How we handle your data
- You own your data and your accounts. Wherever possible we build inside your tools, under your logins, so nothing depends on us.
- Business-grade AI tools only. We work in business and enterprise tiers, where your data is not used to train AI models.
- We collect only what the project needs. No sensitive personal information we don't require, and never regulated data.
- We delete our working copies of your files after delivery and handoff.
- AI makes mistakes. Anything AI generates should be reviewed by a person before you rely on it. We build in guardrails; you stay in control of what goes out the door.

Who we are
Southern AI Consulting is two people in Prattville, Alabama. One of us is a software engineer who has spent a career building systems that have to work in production; the other runs everything else — intake, scoping, scheduling, and the part where we tell you honestly whether we can help.
We're deliberately small and we intend to stay that way. It means we can be picky about the work we take, responsive when we take it, and straight with you when the answer is no.
